Beef Stroganoff

RLCB 2 lbs. GROUND BEEF

Prep Time: 15 min. | cook time: 20 min. | Serves: 6

Serve with fresh bread and a green salad.


 

Ingredients

 
  • 2 TBS oil

  • 1 cup sour cream (optional)

  • 1-3 TBSP flour

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Egg noodles, wheat pasta or mashed potatoes to serve

  • 2 lb RLCB ground beef or tenderized round steak cut into strips

  • t10 to 12 mushrooms, sliced

  • 1 large onion, diced

  • 2-3 garlic cloves, chopped

  • 28 oz beef broth (or beef consommé)

  • Add 1 cup frozen peas


 

Instructions

 
  1. In a frying pan, sauté onion, garlic and mushrooms in oil until soft and set aside.

  2. If using ground beef, add it to the onion mixture and brown in the same pan. If using tenderized steak, set aside the onion mixture. Coat the beef strips with flour and brown until cooked.

  3. Add all ingredients with the beef broth (or beef consommé) to the pan and stir until thickened. If a thicker sauce is desired, add more flour.

  4. Add in frozen peas and let the mixture simmer. Stir in the sour cream just before serving

  5. Serve over egg noodles, wheat pasta, or mashed potatoes.
